Congrats & Thanks For Your Posts!!

Ya, that's what I'm talking about!! Hard to say which is more fun, flyfishing or flytying!!!
-
My experience of 30+ years ago is similar to Crotalus'; Used mine duckhunting and the thing didn't really take off until I was in my pickup on the way home. Then it got hotter than hell!! My advise, buy a good pair of gloves!!
-
Sorry to hear that you are going to be "down" for awhile. Hope everything goes smoothly and that you'll be back soon. We can't get along without you for long!!
-
Well,I learned something today already and it isn't even 0800!!

Excellent fish! Are thr lahontans are as aggressive on dries as other species of cutts?
Marc
Nope, no dry fly action here. Most fish are taken either with wooly buggers or foam beetles and in the spring with chironomids under indicators.
-
cool you got a tagged fish, do you have to report that one?? Awsome fish dude!
The USFWS requests that you report any tagged fish. These are a "Pilot Peak" strain Lahontan Cutthroats which were the origin strain of cutthroats in Pyramid Lake before "progress" wiped them out in the early part of the 20th century. The US Fish & Wildlife Service has been stocking them back in the lake for the past 5 or 6 years. Most of the cutthroats currently in the lake are other strains of Lahontan Cutthroats. At any rate, reporting information on tagged fish helps the Service monitor the success of their efforts.
The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, which owns the Reservation that Pyramid Lake also tags fish that they stock as well as "prize" fish for various fishing derbies.
Long answer to a simple question...

I feel like if I had the full time to be able to get out and fish, I could have had a better chance to adapt to what I was finding (or not finding).
This is why I always recommend to my kids that they maximize their 401K contribution!! Retirement provides that opportunity to perfect your craft!! Hang in there!!!

Address please.

Welcome aboard!! Southern Illinois is a great place for an outdoorsman to live!! Had plans to move there after retiring, but then the economy/housing market took the "big dump" and now I'm laying low.
-
Now that is a great photo!!!

The letter to the customs bureau went out and should be there by now, and the hearing date is October 5, so hopefully we will be able to get back the stuff that was confiscated soon and get it back into box 2. Will keep you updated on what happens to it.
