  1. These are my 5th and 6th attempts at Dahlberg Divers. Made them a little on the small size for my creek Smallies. Spinning deer hair is tough!
  2. Finished up a few Clousers for the Smallies and Crappies.
  3. I dont know what you would call these but hopefully they will produce some Smallies. Dont laugh, i really dont know what im doing! The green one with legs i call MR T, because of the mohawk.
  4. Fairly new to fly tying, but here are a few from the vise.
  5. Awesome crayfish pattern! Nice work. Smallies will love em.
  6. Tired of ruining bucktails trying to dye them. Ive tried washing the tail with bleach before dying, that didnt work. We put the tails in almost boiling water with kool aid and vinegar. Also tried powdered dye you get at Wal-mart with vinegar that didnt work. All we get is light pastel colors. I am looking for the deep dark colors like you buy from Janns, Cabela`s and etc. I have heard you can use Jacquard`s acid dye but i would like to know the method to use to get DARK colors. Please help. Thanks Frank Harvey
  7. Thanks Old Hat I guess its not exactly true to life, all i know Smallmouth Bass and other fish love it! Try it in a color you prefer and let me know how it works. Frank
  8. A new addition to the fly pattern database has been submitted by coinman66: Franks Crawdad
  9. The claws and tail are just black and white chicken cape feathers. The body is your color choice of chenille wrapped in colored wire or krystal hackle. The antennae are peacock herl. I use Tiemco TMC200R size 4,6, or 10. Also i use an 1/60th or 1/80th dumbell eye with red or brown dubbing around eye. Thanks for replying.
  10. Hi All Im new to the fly tying scene. Been tying for about 1 year now. I live in Central Illinois and love fishing for Smallmouth Bass. I tied these flys and the Smallies love em! I call it "Franks Crawdad". The hooks are a Tiemco T200r, sizes 4, 6, 10. I even caught a 20'' Channel cat on them. When you strip it in the tail pumps like a fleeing crawdad!
