  1. oops, yeah you did write that <_< hehe, yeah we went today, but didn't fish, there were too many people, I seen people with their line set up like a strange torture device, treble hooks that are probably meant for sharks. My wife stayed in the car and I got out and walked around and I got dirty looks from everyone there for going over to see, like they were up to something. these people pretty much wrecked it for us, we are so turned off of salmon fishing now that our rods are getting cleaned up and put away until next spring when trout opens again. there was even two teens who between trying to snag fish, were "making out" on the ledge. :dunno: well, guess I'll get alot of tying done over the winter anyway (not a bad thing!! got lots of empty spaces in my shoulder bag)

  2. part of the fun of fishing is not knowing whether or not you are going to catch something, I find one of the greatest things is the letdown when a fish gets away on you, the build up of excitement as you're playing the fish only to have the line go limp and the feeling of dissappointment. Maybe I'm wierd, but I like to be mentally tortured by fish, it builds character

  3. was in turners tackle in trenton today and they definately working on getting fly fishing gear, so far they got fly boxes and complete tying kits for beginners, they said they are getting more and apparently are getting alot of requests. Also got a sweet deal on some mossy oak insulated chestwaders ($85). nice!!! a step up from my hipwaders, not that I need camoflage  but they do look cool, and feel so comfortable.

  4. I usually drink Blackthorn or Strongbow, but lately I get BC Growers granny smith cider, cause it's the only thing my wife will drink, also it's made in K-town where I was born.

wish you would of told me sooner that jim beams is good in cider, I drank all the cider last sunday and had an unopened bottle of jim beams in my bookshelf <_<

  5. just watch yourself with people like that, let authorities deal with them, people that do really stupid and thoughtless things to the environment probably don't care about other laws either and wouldn't think twice about doing something to hurt you. I remember one morning on the weekend fishing the moira I heard a gunshot downtown not far from where I was fishing, then looking at all the gang graffitti on the bridges, I just thought it would be a better idea to come back later. <_<

  6. also you said "place a big order between yourself and other fly fishers" how big does that order have to be, since my flyline is on that order as well already, unless he just threw out my order, Skevy's has a fly fishing section up and running and he is a fly fisher/tyer as well. Also keep an eye out for Turners tackle in trenton, I talked to him and he is planning on a fly fishing section in his store.

  7. as far as I know how it is here in ontario, if you do work any where "near" a river, you need a permit, regardless of whether or not you own the property, also if you destroy fish habitat, you must replace it with 5 more. I remember reading that, we had work done on the moira, it was long overdue but the city was required to fix up the river, it's lookin great now :) we have the "ministry of fisheries and oceans" which looks over that.

  8. for me it has to be light, durable (i'm rough on my fishing gear). as far as drag is concerned, I almost never use the reel to fight a fish. I mainly target smallmouth. It's just gotta be light and not fall apart and it's good enough for me. (if it looks cool, that's a plus also)

  9. I'm using SA concept at the moment, I find it fairly easy to cast, but on my other reel I have DT aircel and it takes a little more work. I've read good things about headstart, and if the store doesn't get my ultra 4 bass in soon, they can keep it and I'll just grab headstart instead.
