  1.

A very nice set of hoppers landed in my mailbox today from Polarbear78. I'm sure that that they will work for trout as well as panfish. They will make a great addition to the PHWFF fly boxes, your generosity and participation in the Project Healing Waters Swap is greatly appreciated. Thanks again! :clapping:

not a problem. Sounds like a very nice thing you are doing out there. Good job to you!!!!!

  2. I was asking which side because I live on the East side and there's very limited flyfishable water. Most of the brookie streams on this side are so small and brush choked I have trouble roll casting a 6ft flyrod. The west side is full of water and alot more of it is flyfisher friendly. As far as flies are concerned, I cant really say much about dry's, most of the brookies that inhabit the streams I fish are two feet up under the banks so drifting a fly over them is impossible. I have had luck with parachute adams if there's a hatch going off. The majority of the time Im nymphing with hairs ears.

Thats what I've heard, about the streams being so small...I was contemplating buying a small 6' rod as I have an 8.5' and a 9' fly rod...I really don't want to buy another rod though that I would only use on this trip...my friend who lives up there doesn't have a fly rod, only uses little hooks with worms and does good...so worst case scenario is that I suppose..

  3. Meat eater?...just a nick name you've given them or is it something special? Just wanna know before I start tying...

I think it's just a nickname, I think it's meat eaters because were suppose to tie big meatie flies.

    k. just checking. don't wanna be "that guy" when everyone gets their new flies back.... :wallbash:

  4. I like them! almost look like you could make them articulated??? Just wondering though...what do you target with these fine pieces of art?

Bass for the most part although I have been thinking the same thing tied in the proper colors with a bigger profile would be death to pike as well. Thanks for the kind words.... I can't say as though I would call them art, more of a fancy tool.
