  1. Here ya go Day 5 posted on Nov24

    Important notice.

Picture's are of flies. Packages are coming in with flybox's, tying material and other nice item's to make this a good christmas. Picture's are of flies only. in some cases not all the flies. Some swapper's sent in a whole lot of flies and I will only post picture's of some of them. There will be some really neat surprises on Christmas. So if you do not see everything you sent for your secret swapper, don't worry, anything other than the flies will be a surprise. Picture's are of flies only.

  2. I am also looking for a different way to store hooks. Right now I have them in the packages they came in seperated by type in zip locks, streamer, dry, wet, ect. I have Salmon hooks in there own plastic container. I like to have the hooks in their orignal packages so I can Id them. There is nothing more fustrating than to figure out loose hooks.

  3. Thanks for the food for thought> I am not out to bust the editors balls!!!!!I have subscribed to Flytyer for about 5 years now!!!! I have noticed a change in amount of content, that is what I am focusing on. Believe me I am not going for the throat with raging criticism when I can just walk away from the subscription, and never look at the magazine again. Purolohi Kalastaja, I like your statement"

I have noticed that the make-up of the participants on this forum, however, do not "fit the mold" of the "traditional" fly tier or fly fisher, on average, and it might just be that the magazine is not paced properly for you, as it might be for someone who is not you. I think there is a lot of truth to this. I think that is why Hatches is such a runaway hit, is in it's willingness to adapt & break out of most tying traditions. Hatches has the benfit of us tying junkies to get a puse of what is going on various intrests from this site. Looking back on past issues of Tyer there has been some departure from tradition also! When I picked up my first issue of Flytyer I was amazed it Jumped started me and propeled my intrest further into the relm of tying.

  4. I sometimes wonder why I subscribe to Flytyer magazine. My subscription is due, and I can't decide to renew. It seems that the Mag is stuck in a rut and It seems to be the same old same old every time it arrives in my mail box. It might just be me. There was a time that I would be jonesing to get my hands on the newest copy. The last few issues I have recived I not been excited by them. I used to get so stoked by what I saw that I would tie a good portion of what I saw in the articles. I look to the very few tying orientated mags for a spark of inspration, to get my creative jucies flowing. (Thank goodness for FTF) I do like the ability of having things in print and flip through a magazine at my own pace. I know there is content in F Ty but it feels hollow. I look foward to the new hatches. I hope Will and the others are looking at other publications and taking a good look at what they are covering now and also past issues, and excell at there weakness.I Know it's got to be really hard to pull off a magazine for everybody likes. Just my thoughts.
