There was a mention of a wooly bugger in M*A*S*H being fished by the Colonel. I can't remember now if it was the movie or the TV version.Yes, it was Henry tying it. I've got the series on dvd. I'll have to check it out and see. Oh, it was the tv show.

Yea, I got the same thing. From what I can see looks cool.

This, is a never ending subject. I try and try but never am I happy with how my boxes are sorted.

Dang riff, a porcupine? That's funny! At least you got some tying material out of it. Looking forward to seeing them. I've had a lot of things happen in archery but never a run in with a porcupine.

He killed the fish quickly and outright, and not left on the bank to flop and die slowly... Can't say if it was staged or not but I'd certainly like to try fishing that region looks like fun.

I like that, nice looking tie.

That's cool, one must stay true to ones self. But if you ever get the itch I want to know.

I understand Terje, this is where the purist comes in in your screen name. Not just a name, but a lifestyle....

"T", nice tie. That pattern looks great, I'm thinking that puppy's going to float very high like a cork. How thick is the foam you used? (2mm)Have you got it in the water to see what it does? I'm by no means trying to put this fly down, I'm in fact using this opportunity as an interface for this style pattern. I'm wondering what would happen if you wrapped lead tape initially then wrapped the foam could one achieve a neutral buoyancy effect? ( half submerged/ half floating)But then the whole reason you used foam was so it would float I am sure. I've tried this kind of thing with a cricket pattern I tied a foam strip on then did a tiger weave with black and brown dmc floss. What happened with that was it did float but barely, made it very hard to see but a good fish taker. But any way, great tying as usual Terje.

I won't give away what they are but the cool thing about these flies is they pull double duty catching trout and bass. They're kinda big for trout but not too big and kinda small for bass but not too small. tried the red fox version on a stream that turns marginal at the mouth and caught both in the same evening. I hope everyone enjoys them.

I have a daylight brand light with the magnifier that swings, I think it's very handy to have. Swings completely out of the way when not in use and swings back for use. Mostly I use it for getting a good look see at my ties. If I'm wrapping quills on a size 20 then I use it to see how the wraps are progressing.

You don't even want to know what you're going to have in this in 20 years...

Depends how much you're happy to pay but try Steve at cookshill.comHe supplies really good skins.
^This^ is what I was going to suggest.

Flies on the way.

Bad videos can be really annoying. I don't say this because mine are better can't be I don't make any. But some videos, do they watch them first and think yea, that's a keeper? When I really like the pattern and it's a god awful video I fast forward to the end and figure it out for myself. On the flip side the really good ones make you want to watch again.

Perhaps get in touch with a local fly shop.
