  1. I'm new to the forums, so I don't know if replies to "old" strings of postings are picked up readily, but I'll give it a shot..... longears: You can find the Bob Popovics Schoolie fly pattern on page 59 of Dick Stewart and Farrow Allen's "Flies for Saltwater" (Mountain Pond Publishing, North Conway, NH, 1992). I'm trying to find large-sized (over 2"-long) Mustad #79666S (or #79666) hooks to tie up some Schoolies -- does anybody know where I can find these discontinued hooks? Thanks, Bill
  2. Has anyone been able to come up a supplier for the keel hooks? I'm looking for fairly large ones, for tying the Popovics Schoolie flies. Thanks! --Bill
  3. My favorite saltwater fish on the fly rod so far: the striper. Plan to try for sharks with the fly this fall, so that might change! Anybody have a favorite shark fly pattern they want to share? I've tied a few marabou "chum flies" and am open to suggestions. --Bill
  4. My windy day technique has largely involved small flies, short casts, and, too often, a bit of ducking, but the Skok mushy-type flies and "Sedotti's flash fly" look like winners! Thanks. Am impatiently awaiting the arrival of bait and stripers in the Kennebec here in Maine. My first post -- will be back often. --Bill
