Hey guys I really have enjoyed the forum and surely want to follow the rules. I love to fly tie and fish and am excited about a group of guys that have the same interest.. but if I could help anybody with anything biblical I would be honored. Bring it on Smallie, there are some great holes around here. I have been dying to go up north and catch some steelhead or salmon. I have never fished for them and I am anxious to try. What would be the closest place to me for that kind of fishing? Anybody know? As far as cuts go....one of my parishoners told me that they have caught a lot of cuts up in the mountains. I have only caught a couple....but lots of brookies. Oh boy....I can tell already that this is going to be fun.

Hey fellas, I happened on the site about a week ago and....wel to be honest am pert' near addicted! I am already in 3 swaps and had a couple invites to come fishing. I am a minister and just got back to the USA. I spent four years living in Germany while working as a missionary in Ireland, Slovania , Slovakia, Czech, Austria, Poland, Hungary and a few other places. I fished a lot in Austria..cradled in the ALPS! Fished all around Europe but Austira and Switzerland were my favorites. But now I reside in Johnson City TN, right in the heart of some of the best fly fishing in the US. They say it is the states best kept secret. Lots of small creeks and rivers with a drove of mountain streams teaming with native brookies and cuts! Glad to be on board! If any body comes to East Tn....Holler Bobby

Another thought.... If you are planning on getting into tying at all....I think you will be disappointed if you do not get a true rotary vise. You need this to really be in control of all side of the fly. You can spend less money for a stationary vise.....but in the long run you will most likely ditch it for a rotary. You might look on e-bay and find a decent rotary vise......they always have a wide selection. B

Well....while we are giving opinions...if you want an excellent vice that will not empty your bank account....go for the renzetti traveler. I have been tying for years and have not had a bit of trouble with mine. In fact I have a good friend that invents patterns for UMPQUA, the largest fly seller in the world, and he still ties with a renzetti traveler. Most of the time you can pick one up for about $130-140. You wont go wrong with renzetti. Good tying! Bobby
