I don't notice you mentioning any weight in the recipe... are you dead drifting this one normally?

i do not add weight, but you can if you like. i swing/dead/strip it depending on the water conditions. i also make this in brown and olive to copy sculpins

Guys - Don't let the simplicity of this pattern fool you. I know from speaking with Jim (flyguy5910) that this fly catches lots of fish!

thanks for the kind words, i use tmc hooks in sizes 6-8 for most steelhead apps. and size 8 for inland
