Classic saltwater #26- White Whistler

Early books on saltwater flies seem to always include this Dan Blanton creation, or his Whistler series.. Most of us are used to seeing the Whistlers with Red palmer hackles and either straight or grizzly hackles for the tails...Here is a copy of the original Whistler... Red Chenelle is wraped around the front of the hook ,behind the eye, and red thread is built up significantly at the nose. The tail is Bucktail with a few strands of red bucktail on the sides that blend in with the chennelle inside.. You can use flash instead of the red bucktail on the sides except this I think is a later version..The original uses only natural material :
