Sierra Nevadas, CA

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Living here in Auberry, California, there are a LOT of baitcasters, and, not being bias, they often ruin your hope a noble, peaceful, catch and release fly fishing trip. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of some good fly-oriented waters in the Sierras, compared to the heavily pressured waters I usually fish. And I'm also willing for a good backpacking trip!

Thank You and Tight Lines,

The WHOLE ENCHILADA on Fly Fishing the Sierras...

Thanks imx and PlanetTrout, but unfortunately with being 14 years old my fishing range is quite small, restricted to the west side of the Sierras. But nevertheless, I appreciate the information!:D

Thank You and Tight Lines,

C leBo,

Ck. out the ENTIRE site...Shaver Lake appears to be near Auberry. Steve's site lists hatches, fly patterns (and their recipes), camping spots and a whole lot of other useful information..wander around there for awhile...

Hi,

Besides Steven Ojai's site, I also sometimes refer to the Eco Anglers site, My link. Search 'habitat': Habitat, for locations. Tho' I didn't search near your area, it's worth a try.

Good luck, Sherrill
