  1. Very nice, I was tying up just some plain old Hare ear nymphs this morning. The one with the PT down the back is amazing. I will have to try to tie a few of those. Thanks for posting those great flies letumgo!!

Hey, I thought it was considered cheating to put real insects on hooks???? All kidding aside, you Sir are a true Artist. Your step by step photos make it look all too easy. Very nice… :headbang:
  3. Thanks for the warm welcome guys. sulfernut: Thanks for the tip I will give that a try and see if I fare any better.
  4. I live down in Castle Rock. As for the PT tails thats my fault I know I tied them in a little long and got some dumb idea to cut them to the right length. Got to get the proportions down. One problem that I do have is with the wing casing. I used about 6 pheasant tail fibers for the case. The problem that I keep having is that they roll together after tying them in and then it looks like a rope when I pull them over to tie off at the head. Any suggestions on keeping these flat so that the wing case covers more area?
  5. Ok time to come out and be social. I registered here a few months ago and sense then I have been just lurking and reading everything for hints and tips. I started tying about 20 years ago when I was a teenager. Got a cheap starter kit for X-mas one year. That lasted all of about a month before I gave it up due to being a teenager and lack of instruction to keep me going. Now fast forward to present day. I started flyfishing again about 6 years ago and now just a few months ago I decided to try my hand at tying again. So I busted out the old kit and bought some new stuff to go along with it. So I am still kind of new at this. Here are a few pics of the flies that I have tied over the last few weeks. Any help on how to make them better and criticism welcome. Now these are not the very first ones as there are about 20 to 30 before these that just didn’t make the cut.
