-
good looking and would be derable for fishing with all that epoxy

The honest to goodness truth is that I am new to tying and each time I have tried to spin deer hair it has turned into such a monstrous debacle that I have give up for now. Foam is SOOO simple to use and tie with that I rarely see myself using spun deer hair.
C
don't say that! everyones bad at first when it comes to spinning ( it probably took me 10 tries to get it right). Anyway, back to the poll I prefer to use hair for spinning but some things need foam

pheasant all the way because quills can block a fish from getting hooked
-

-
Does anybody know any yellow perch flies ? :help:
-
nice simple and yet caught a huge bass

Really nice looking, but I have a question. I had a Mayfly land on my arm yesterday and it only had 2 antenna things coming from its behind. Yours has 3, is that correct, was the one I saw missing one.
good question all the nymphs have 3 unless taken off the adults however may have 2 depending on the species but genrally they have 3

totally true, they are big but every bit real as they are big

The definition of fly fishing is that the weight necessary for the cast is a component of the fly line -- not the terminal tackle.
wait a second dosen't doing a roll cast where you load the rod NOT using the wieght of the line but the energy stored in the rod from rapidly jerking it and shooting the line out with that energy???????

half realistic or not it looks real good!!!! :headbang:

I'll bet the fish are starving marvin for your sufin' merkin :hyst:

Why not just use a wolly bugger with those flexi-tails than trim the hackel on top and bottom
-

how many of you buy flies? Since I have been tying and fishing my own flies I find I am reluctant to buy flies out of a catalog or fly shop. If it is a new pattern and I can't disect it in my mind I might buy one so I can reverse engineer it. what about you?
that's exactly what I do, to figure out how to tye it (stealing my ideas ) :j_k:

well... my favorite would be a dolly varden although i've never fished for them but its like a bigger and more colorful brook trout and they are by far the most beautiful trout to me (although i've only seen them in books) but for ones i've fished for is browns
