One of my favorites for fishing high muddy water. Tied on 2inch 3/32 copper tube fly.

Something I have been playing around with, using d-rib for a tag, and bunny as a wing. I got the d rib idea I beleive it's marc leblanc.

I sucked big time that day, I couldn't produce anything but that little minnow. My friends talked about shooting me in the back of the head, you know as a favor for catching that minnow, i feel so ashamed I should be taken out back and beaten.

Had a great day on the salmon river this past sunday. Cought this nice fish swinging a white tube fly. Weather was awesome and there was barley anyone around.

Thought I would share some of the action from the big wny trib last week that was a gift from the gods.

HardyHead hit it right on. (no pun intended) That is the way that you burn shlappen to make spey hackle. I always tend to look for the feathers that have the longest barbles with the thinnest stems, because they make the best spey hackle. The ones that you buy is burnt goose and the stems tend to be really thick and hard to work with. If you want to use the premade spey hackle you have to soak them in warm water in order to work with them because alot of the time the bleach makes them very brittle and the stems have a tendency to break when wrapping them, plus burt schlappen allows the tier to use as much or as little as possible rather than not having enough with using the pre made spey hackle. Oh by the way the "Catt" is fishable if anyone wants to know.

Yeah Swinging with the single hander the spey is alittle to long for this creek.

Now that we are entering cold weather steelhead season this is another of my favorite flies to fish when the water is slow and cold. Pattern originated by Rick Kustich.

This fish actually took a fly swinging it was the white and purple bunny spey that I had posted a little while ago. It was from two years ago. It is a smaller trib but the second largest of the great lakes along lake erie.

Thought I would share some classic fish porn from that winter on our steelhead waters.

Clearly our tribs suck, So many people, horrible water conditions, and miniture glaciers everywhere.

A favorite winter fly, also any pattern tied with white has always been a great producer on the GL Tributaries.

The hackle is white schlappen burned in bleach. Thanks for the kind words guys.

I'll get the material list up shortly but one of the latest that works well when the water is in it's prime Lake Erie Green Color.

Nice flies ray great color variations and the wings look great.

Did you palmer the wood duck or did you just tie it in for the tail?
