    Hook: 1.5 Alec Jackson

    Butt: Golden Pheasant Crest Dyed Red, Golden Pheasant Tippets

    Rear Half: Pink Slf, Pink Saddle Hackle, Fine Silver Wire

    Front Half: Purple Slf, Purple Shlappen Burned In Bleach, Fine Silver Wire

    Collar: Pink Mallard Flank

    Wings: Pink and Purple Goose Shoulder


  2. HardyHead hit it right on. (no pun intended) That is the way that you burn shlappen to make spey hackle. I always tend to look for the feathers that have the longest barbles with the thinnest stems, because they make the best spey hackle. The ones that you buy is burnt goose and the stems tend to be really thick and hard to work with. If you want to use the premade spey hackle you have to soak them in warm water in order to work with them because alot of the time the bleach makes them very brittle and the stems have a tendency to break when wrapping them, plus burt schlappen allows the tier to use as much or as little as possible rather than not having enough with using the pre made spey hackle. Oh by the way the "Catt" is fishable if anyone wants to know.
