all I can say is, use two vices or one vice and a fixed post...

they are not the easiest thing to tie, but yet they're not really that tough either. After all, it's just one material in two different pieces.

Thats pretty much why we didn't go in today. Pretty slow at work today and my boss didn't see any reason to have everyone come in just to sit around the shop and sweep floors only to get stuck there. Now freezing rain..supposed to change back to snow in an hour or so.

Woke up to what we expected here in Indianapolis. Snow just north of me and freezing rain to the south. The boss said "lets wait til 8:00 and see what it's like". Well, it's only supposed to get worse as the temp drops and the front moves so at 8 he called and gave me the word. :thumbsdown:

I was really glad to get the day off since I just finalized plans with my Brother-In-Law last night to go up and fish the MO with him Sat and Sun. I've got nothing planned but sitting in front of the vice for the next 8 hours or so and tying to finish filling my boxes and his as well (he doesn't get to tie much).

I know what I'm doing today!! :thumbup: :clapping:

If you tie a pattern and change a few materials..is it a new pattern worthy of a new name?

I tie Clousers with lots of different materials, probably 7 or 8 variations......It's still a Clouser.

I tie Smalliehunters felt back craw a bit differently than he does.. soft hackle and swiss straw on the back....Still call it Smallies' craw.

I'm sure I'll be taking flack for this, so go ahead.

Buddy and I are going to be there at 9 so we can get out by 12. We've got a tying class at the local shop at 2pm and it would be rude to miss it since the instructors a friend and asked us what patterns we wanted to do on that day.

Beers usually whatever I've got on hand, usually Rolling Rock or an IPA (Bells from Kalamazoo) if I had a good check that week.

If I'm just relaxing and checking the forum or looking for patterns I may have a Makers Mark and water.

I find whatever I'm drinking at the vice usually gets cold or warm by the time I get to it...
