Check for some Craw patterns under Smalliehunters name as well. They're effective and fairly simple to tie. Hell, any idiot could tie 'em!
(just look at the designer) :hyst: :j_k: :hyst:

I may only carry 3 or 4, but if it's a pattern I believe in, I'll tie 12 at a sitting. I really believe that to get comfortable with a pattern you've gotta tie a bunch of em. I hated dubbing loops til I started tying Murrays' Madtoms. Since I tied a bunch for myself and 16 for the Smallie swap I've actually come to enjoy tying them and they look SOOO much better than the first ones! :headbang:

Thanks for the great interest so far, I did speak with the company today and they said I could mix and match colors as long as I keep the same design and the same color for the design. So I will try to get a few colors together so everybody can choose whatever color(s) they want.
And that, my diminutive friend, is why I insist on being a thorn in your pale white arse.

Mike...
Funny, I was just on the phone with Will talking about this very thing. I got the Bob Clouser book a few weeks ago and started messing around with his "Swimming Nymph" pattern. I tied some in olive (olive maribou tail, custom blended some dubbing from about 3 different types, olive hen back soft hackle and a muted brass/olive beadhead) and discovered that I had tied a pretty good looking Dragon Nymph type thing without even trying. I really like the looks of it and if I can tie it, I KNOW you can! :headbang:
Check it out...

I think the pedestal on my Peak is advertised as 6 pounds...I love it. Even though I do have a dedicated area for tying, I find myself moving my vise around the table to get to this or that or maybe just get a different angle on things. I've spun deerhair more than once and never had a problem. :headbang:
For what it's worth, after the first few days of owning my vise I gave the bright white pedestal base a light fogging of flat gray spray paint. I know some of the guys here like the contrast,..the way I have my lighting and seating situated it gave me some hellacious eye strain and a headache.
If you find your vise too short with the pedestal, I believe the Peak pedestal extension will fit if your shaft is 3/8"....helped me dial it in..
