  1. Yeah I did see that post. I read it and was thinking about it. I went to the store to see if they had any rubber hackles, "Nope". I have a great little store around the corner just a little scarce on some of the tying materials. Maybe head to the larger city and take a look. Then I maybe interested. Thanks for the heads up though.
  2. I'm new to tying and was interested in a swap. They seem to fill up quickly. I was wondering if someone would be interested in hosting a beginner swap? Thanks, Ice
  3. I live in a farming community. I was wondering the type of bird I would be looking for? I have egg farmers, meat farmers and just plain hobbist's around. One fellow raises specility birds. I've been asking around. Until then I have gone to the local fishing store and bought some neck hackles. $39 for a 1/2 neck. Thanks for your replies. Ice
  4. Hello everyone, I have been collecting peices here and there to grow my tying materials. I know everyone may have noticed that hackles are in major demand. I was wondering if I could speak to a local farmer that raises chickens. Is there a special bird that produces these hackles for dry flies? Everysite I go to is sold out or Ebay wants 100+ for the same . I'll be hunting this fal for some but as for the rest. If anyone has info PM me, Keep it under raps. Thanks, Ice
  5. Good afternoon everyone. Pleased to announce that I have joined your forum. I have been reading through many of your posts. I have found out a great deal of information from this site. Great job, awesome contributions. I'm very new to tying, I have only started tying in preparation for the fall. My flies don't leave muct to the imagination. Crazy patterns Ice
  6. I'm a new member going through posts. I'm a new tyer and have been given an alternitive to scud backing. It was suggested that I could use potatoe chip bags cut slim. These are shinny on one side and come in many different colours. Hope this helps. I know this is an older post but you never know when advice maybe needed.
