  1. Hi Bassturd You are a bit wrong. What you are after according to your writing is Spey style wings. Let me explain. The first pic is Dee style wings: And this one is Spey style wings: There are more ways to tiein the Spey wings normally two strips of bronze mallard. I think most set the wings one at a time starting with the opposite one. The techniquie is explained and showed in John Sheweys book "Spey and Dee fles" Which I can highly recommend if you are into tying these kind of flies. Regards Jens
  2. Hi Daryn Nice Cosseboom. Just ready to be fished! Jens
  3. Hi Fabrice I can get you the temple dog hair if you really need it. But a piece of advice If you are just starting up tying tube flies begin your efforts with Artic fox it is a lot cheaper and very much like temple dog both in structure and in mobility in the water. Regards jens
  4. Hi guys The upcoming season is just round the corner and it will again be time to hunt the seatrout on the coastline. One of my choices is fry imitations. Here are a few examples. Tight lines Jens

We got in a dialog about the palmer hackle on these flies and Daryn was kind enough to send me some of his "Disco yarn". Here is my version for The Scandinavian peat coloured rivers. Regards Jens

  16. Hi AIG You can convert almost every pattern to a tube version. Books about the Svandinavian style of tube pattern in Englisjh language is not easy to get. But there is an English magazine which often bring tube flies pattern www.flyfishing-and-flytying.co.uk Jens
  17. Hi Daryn Beautifull streamer with a head that will surely make some disturbance in the water A nice little fish imitation that will work over here in the spring. I can see that the wing is free do you never tie it in as a zonker? Jens
  18. Hi Carambola Nice sheeps. They will surely work on the Dee. Are you going this spring? Regards Jens
  19. Jens can you give instructions as to what materials you use to tie this fly. It looks amazing and I cant wait to tie a few up. One quick question on a seperate note... have you ever had issues with junction tubing not breaking away? I recently made a tip up steelhead fishing and had two solid takes on the swing. In both instances the tubing did not break away. I have never had this happen before I also lost both fish in each instance. Thanks Jens I will look forward to patterns you will be posting in the future. Hi Here is the dressing: Tube: Orange FITS tube system Tag: Dark purple oval tinsel Tail: Purple SLF hanks Rear body: Gold flatbraid Front body: Purple SLF Hackle: Purple cock Rib: Oval silver Wings: Pink and Purple Artic fox Head: Black cone To your second question I am not really sure what you mean Is it the silicone tube holding the hook or?? Jens
  20. Hi all Got the new turbo cones this morning and I simply had to try them out. The result was an Orange Turbo Tube for spring fishing in dark water. Cant wait to see them working in the water. Jens
  21. Hi Just got hold of some new wing material (Himalayan Sheep) Here is my first try. The Scottish pattern Black Sheep. Nice to work with but how it will work in the water time will tell. Jens
  22. Hi Thomas I just bought the sheep because it looked good. I bought it in a shop here in Denmark. I will give it a try. If it works I will let you know. About the fishing - do you mean this year or next year? Jens
  23. Hi Ray I can see that Thomas is not online so I can answer I am sure he will agree.... If You remember my class. I just left 1 (one) milimeter in front of the cone and then melted it down carefully without touching the plastic with the flame. Remember to have the mandrel/pin inside the tube and when the melting touches the front end of the cone push the pin forward to make sure that the hole is intact. Same procedure, here you leave 1½ to 2 milimeter in front of the cone before melting. You can also form it a little by pressing it against a piece of metal as soon as the melting touches the front end of the cone but remember to get the pin through the hole before it hardens. Hope that it makes sence Jens
  24. Hi Micke Nice Munro Killer. This fly is really a killer. One suggestion. Try to build the under wing in two sections. The first only as long as the body and the second a 1/3 longer. It gives a better tapering to the wing and then a few strands of holografic gold angelhair between the the wings. Regards Jens
