AF_Tier I have 5 vises including the Nor-Vise. The Nor-Vise is all I use now, the kids use the others. I have read some people making some less then favorable comments about the Nor-Vise. I bought a really old one off EBay, Called Norm and he looked at the pictures of it. We updated the jaws, then I sent it in and got the tension screw added. Norm helped with every mod, even sent me a free spring to replace the O ring. When I got a auto bobin that cut thread, he sent a free one. Won't use anything else....... PS Get the CD, it's great.

I have enjoyed all the swaps. I agree that I like shorter turn around times, they inspire me to get them done and go to my next project. I have been in 19 swaps on this board in the last year, they have all worked but 1. About 1/3 wind up going long and I get flies I forgot about. The flies have all been good, some great. I think mine are better now as a result. Those close up macro pictures will make you work a little harder to get them right. Most of the swappers have been great. All in all a good experience. Was looking at displays and doing some random searches, I think I searched for round clear plastic rod. I'll get back to you on that one. Sent PM

A couple of things. 1. Gray Squirrel did not summit any flies in the Wet Swap. Signed up and said they where sent and lost in the mail. 2. The mounting of the flies with that little clip doesn't bring out the best features of the flies. A clear plastic post with the fly mounted about 1/2" out would make them look better. 3. The flies are and where nice ties, good looking flies. The picture, good as it might be does not do them justice.

What can I say, I like it, a lot! :ban: :ban: Thanks for the swap comments, we had dedicated swappers on that one, several patterns each. :headbang:

Everyone.... Bugcam has air mailed his flies somewhat late. They should be here in a couple of days so I'm going to hang till they get here. We are going to have one extra set since Flypimp has disappeared, hope he's OK. I have someone in Australia that was in the Midge swap Flypimp hosted, I would like to send him the extra set. Is everyone good with that?

1 day to go.... 1 set still out from Bugcam. Tomorrow is take pictures and sort them out......

Will be doing some pictures soon, got Birthday party stuff for the youngest going on this weekend. Sometimes it does take a while for the flies to get here and sometimes they are fast. That's why I added the extra four on the zip code, seems to help.

You got that right, I remember one week I got four sets. My trout dry fly box now has about 120 flies in it. My wet fly box still needs some work. I have four boxes of steelhead flies, that's because they're big right? Anyway I'm wrapping up some swaps next next and we'll kick a new one in gear. :ban:

I'm sure we all need therapy. :hyst: :hyst: Swappers are somewhat different then 'normal' fly fishing people. :hyst: I like swaps, so that's me. I can do it next week, host the swap that is.

Did someone get real dubbing? That's quite the store for materials. Makes me think one of my tying bags got lost on the plane.

To get the same look you need a Hare's Mask, In plain term's you need the face of a rabbit. The look of that nymph is complimented with the guard hairs from the mask. If you dubbing does not have those it just won't look the same. It sounds like that anyway. Your dubbing sounds like it was blended, or chopped finer as well.

Will, my glasses have lost some of their power, but I thought I saw something holding those fish. :innocent: Sore Arm, are we ready to roll with 6 tiers?

majestyja, It's good you're doing the swap again. I have moved into almost all Steelhead stuff and would not look forward to tying a bunch of those little Midge's at this time. I'm sure it will fill up fast, have fun everyone.

We're tying these for those fish, or those fish holders? Anyway, Steelhead flies, we need em, more of them!
