Flies are in the mail!! I took a whack at tying the holy grail. I really didn't like the way they were coming out so I tied a slight variation of it, looks like it will catch for sure!

Ill be tying a fly called the holy grail. I don't have much experience with it but it is supposed to be a great all around pattern. And it looks like a fish catcher to me!

I would like in on this one. I need a day or two to think about what i will tie!

Good luck with the two fly. I will be heading to the ausable in a few weeks. Any suggestions on what to tie up? I was also curious what two flys will you be using?

Good luck with the two fly. I have heard its a good time. Maybe I will give the two fly shop a call. I wanted to tie up a few flies for the trip so I didnt have to lug my tying gear up there with me.

Me and my brothers are heading to the Western Branch of the Ausable on May 22nd. We will be staying at the Wilmington notch campgrounds. I have checked the hatches and know all of the standard recommendations, but I wanted to see if anyone could give me some local insight for this time of year. I want to hit the ground running so if anyone knows a go to fly for this area let me know!

Ive actually tied up a few of those in the past. For some reason I find it somewhat discomforting. LOL

I googled (and found) all the patterns last night. There were some really cool patterns, I cant wait to try some of these out on the west branch of the Au Sable in a few weeks!

If I had to guess I would say it looks like some sort of dubbing twister.
