Hi, this is Mike from Nantucket. As a avid fly fisherman it only makes sense to also become a avid fly tyer. In my quest for info I found you all and figured I'd introduce myself. I live on Nantucket Island, and some of you may know the wonderful fishing we have around here. From Stripers and Blues off the boat and beach, plentiful white and yellow perches in the fresh water ponds as well as excellent saltwater bottom fishing and offshore tuna/shark and billfishing we have a bit of everything. Growing up my father got me into fishing for anything that bit in the ponds with a bobber and worm. As I got older my passion for fishing and the sport its self developed to the level of a need for more of a challenge so to say. Fly fishing was the answer, from the cast, to the choice of fly and its presentation and the fight its self, it was like learning something all new. As the love for fly fishing has grown, the need to tye has arisen. Cause ya can't fly fish without flies!.
It also seems that as im heading to the Florida Keys for the winter to relax and do some hopefully killer fly fishing I figured I'd save a few bucks there as well as get that enjoyment of catching a fish on my own creation, and maybe my skills will help me get the hook into some finnicky fish while im down there.
So thanks in advance for all the help your gonna give me!
Tight Lines,
Mike
