  1. Thanks for the tips. All good info! Will definitely give it a try. Also, hadn't thought of putting one up to look back at in time. Thanks! Good point!
  2. Thanks for the videos! Those look great and look easy enough for me to be able to learn. To my knowledge, there are no fly shops around here. Very few people fly fish near me. I will be doing most of my shopping in sporting good stores, Walmart, and craft stores. Hopefully I can learn to tie some flies and jigs that will be effective around here. I think it would be rewarding to tie my own VS buying them.
  3. Thanks a lot for your reply and for the tip!
  4. The last one is supposed to look like a bee/yellow jacket. What looks like a weed guard is 1 of 4 rubber legs. It's hard to see from the pic, but it doesn't cover the hook. Here's another look.
  5. I'm new to fly tying. I tied 7 different ones today. I'm plannng to use them to hopefully catch bream and crappie. I'd appreciate any tips/pics of flies that are best for this type fishing? Do you think I'll have any luck with these?
  6. Hello all! I'm from Bama and new to the forum as well as fly tying. I tied 7 different flies today. I plan to use them to attempt to catch bream, bass, and crappie. I really enjoyed tying them and look forward to learning and tying more. What do y'all think? Yellow jacket
