I'll talk to him a my next exam. Thanks for the replies.

Yes, that is what I ordered. Haven't got it yet.

I'm blind as a bat without my bifocals. It would have to be something that I can use with my glasses. I know what you mean about depth perception with the ring light. It's great for viewing, but hard to work with. The magnifier that I ordered is suppose to work over glasses. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with that type.

I'm having some vision problems and can't see to tie anything smaller than a #10 or a #12. I ordered a binocular magnifier but haven't got it yet. Anyone ever use one, and if so does it work, or did I just waste my money? Will it work with bifocals?

I had a synch problem with this capture. Since Luke places the vise between him and the camera, you have to be dead on with synching audio and video or it looks like a old dubbed Japanese martial arts movie. I tried to remove as many distractions from the frames as I could. I tried to focus on the fly.

Some members PM each other with a time to meet in the virtual classroom. There isn't anything posted. Some kind of sign up calendar would be a nice feature. By the time I see a posting about a chat, it is usually too late to check it out. Classes usually have a week or two notice, so that is not a problem.

Luke is JZ

I tried to run the audio through a filter to remove the tower fan noise from Luke's webcam, but the result was a background noise that sounded like the cantina music from the first Star wars movie, so I left it alone. Stuff happens.
PM Luke about the materials list. It is indeed and nice looking jig he tied.

Awesome video Bruce, really first rate job.

Another way of selling videos is to host them online. You could either create a password protected PDF file with the URL's(and any additional info that you wanted included) and sell the password from your website or host them somewhere and add password keyed encryption to the videos. Here's a link to a piece of software for about $50 that will add a propriatary viewer to the video. Users will download the video, but only the person who you sell the key to can open it and view the video. It is specifically created for selling videos online. I haven't used it, but it looks interesting. I did find freeware that enables me to create password encripted PDF files

See if it was supposed to be attached to the outer edge of a gear somewhere. Transferring a rotating action to an up and down action usually requires a cam like action simuliar to the drive wheels on an old steam locomotive.

Welcome, pull up a chair and make yourself at home.

Great job on the videos. Thanks for posting.

Great job on the video. Much better picture quality when you record it yourself instead of working through a stream. Great fly pattern. Do more, please. Randy

Amen, and a Merry Christmas to all.

I need a video clip of somebody's fly tying desk. I need a 10-12 second clip showing a pan across a fly tying setup and ending in a zoom to a TV or a computer monitor. I'm working on a new intro for the virtual classroom videos. The last second or two should be a steady shot of the TV or monitor. My camcorder is on the fritz. Please PM me if you can help. Thanks. Randy

If your book is older than 75 years, it falls into public domain and could be available for free here-

Can't help you if is more recent.

Just got magnifier from UPS. Wow. At 10-12 inches everything is crystal clear. Bifocals not a problem. Will try to tie tomorrow, but at first glance, this is better than I had hoped.
