Hello,
there are a group of us looking into the possibility of starting a radio station devoted to fly tying/fishing and we're trying to get a handle on what would be interesting topics to cover as well as what type of music most fly fishers/tyers enjoy listening to. We also thought we'd run a segment covering public service announcements so everybody could keep up on the latest events and gear our advertisements primarily to fly fishing events, forums and shows rather than gear hype although we'd want to cover the latest developments in equipment in a news type of format.
We're retired and looking for some way to promote fly fishing, tying and water conservation efforts so although we couldn't afford to operate at a loss we're just looking to cover expenses and anything over would be contributed to organized conservation projects as well as towards promoting fly fishing and tying in the younger generation.
Any suggestions on music selection, topics, directions to take, worthy causes to contribute to, etc would be greatly appreciated. Please be sure and include your age so we can direct segments of the programing to include a variety of things enjoyed by particular groups of the fly fishing community.
