  1. Thanks for all of your good advice on vises. This will really help me make a good decision.
  2. I am a beginner to fly tying. I am interested in getting a good vise for under $150. I was looking at a Renzetti Apprentice with a pedestal base and also a Wolff Apex with a pedestal base. Does anybody have experience with either of these vises? I need a pedestal base that is sturdy. If there is a better vise in this price range let me know.
  3. I am a beginner to fly tying. I got several fly tying tools, vise and materials from a friend of mine years ago. They have been stored for years and I have decided to start tying flies, since I am retired now. The guy tied hundreds of flies for a fishing club. He mainly tied flies that used lead wire on the hook to sink these flies. I am concerned about the years of him using lead wire with his fingers and touching the vise and all of these tools. I don’t want to get lead contamination by handling these tools. It might seem silly, but I am concerned about lead exposure. Let me know your thoughts.
