Fla. Panfisher 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 I finally got my stuff together, and I have turned a few poppers on the lathe , I was tryin to put the legs on ( went and got some silicone skirts) . I read burn a hole with a hot needle, my question is all the way through or a bit and poke them in with glue. If all the way through , how do ya'll pull them through the body? Thanks with more questions to follow... Conrad.
Flytyer-1 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 Don't burn anything. Get a large sewing needle and pull/push the legs through that way, assuming they are foam bodies. Best from Nashville- Stack Scoville
Guest Report post Posted June 15, 2005 You can burn the hole all the way thru, no problem. I dont , I just thread the legs thru the eye of the needle and work the needle thru the foam. But if you are using hard foam burn away. Dont just poke them in, thread them all the way thru.
jschmidt63 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 if you are spinning balsa, be careful it may split on ya. I use a really small drill bit for balsa between my fingers and drill a little hole until im just about through, then I thread the legs on a needle and pull it through. I sometimes put a little zapagap on the legs just before they are pulled into place to lock them in.
