Heading to Rock Springs WY, any tips?

I just booked the location of my last business trip of the summer in Rock Springs WY next week, and the schedule also worked out to have my entire Wednesday off.

Any ideas of options to get on the water out that way for a wading angler? I don't mind a bit of a drive (1-2hr) if I can get on some good water.

Rock Springs is definitely not the first place I think of for water access, but there have to be some options within a couple hours! Green River might be your best bet. It looks like it's about an hour southwest of Rock Springs near Big Piney. A lot of spots for wading and fishing. Maybe you'll get lucky with some grayling or trout rises. Could be a nice way to spend a summer day off. Have fun and hopefully you catch something! Let us know if you find any other hidden gems in the area.
