Turkey Biots

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping to get a turkey this season and when I do, I would love to use some feathers from it for fly tying. I would particularly like to use some biots. Where on the turkey are they? Also, what are some other good tying uses for turkey feathers? Thanks.

Biots come from the leading edge of a wing feather. there are a lot of uses for Turkey feathers. shell backs on nymphs, wings for hoppers, married wings.

Maybe if you tie on 6/0 hook....J/k I don't know of any but you can make beards or do a dubbing rope to make soft hackle.
