newfie 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 I need to get some sort of support for my newest lens and was wondering if i should get a tripod or monopod. I'd feel alot better with a tripod because theyre so sturdy, but a monopod is more compace and can be used almost anywhere. Any thoughts or suggestions? mtbbrian 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 What's the lens you're talking about and what kind of photography are you doing? If you're doing landscape stuff, where you're using small apetures and slow shutter speeds, I'd recommend a tripod. Brian
newfie 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 The lens is a Tamron 200-500mm telephoto zoom. Im mostly going to be doing nature and sporting events with it.
mtbbrian 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 With a lens like that that, and considering that you are shooting sports, I'd recommend a monopod. However, having both is very common, if you can afford it buy both. Brian
newfie 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 Thanks. I am probably going to go with the tripod for now and get a monopod later on.
