Blue Sapphire

Hi guys

here is a new fly from my vice

It is an Icelandic salmon fly named "Blue Sapphire" not very well known but I think it is pretty.

Hope you like it.

And the pattern

Hook: Partridge Bartleet

Tip: Oval Silver

Tag: yellow floss

Tail: GP crest + bright red hackle fibres

Body: Black floss

Rib: Oval silver

Palmer hackle: Royal blue cock

Wings: Royal blue Artic runner + Fox squirrel

Head: black

I agree Jens, it is a simple yet elegant little guy. Too often hairwings are tied with too much hair, so I very much enjoy seeing your hairwing posts since you tie them so well :thumbsup:

I agree with Redwings about a lot of haiwings tyed with

with too much hair, making them stiff,

could you post the recipe for this little charmer?

I would love to give this one a go over here on the Steelhead!!!

Tis a nice pattern. Reckon it would go well in Tasmania on the sea trout in smaller sizes
