Winter Tinys

I was thinking about late winter steelhead before tying these . Thinking that they may be the ticket when the waters are running cold and clear just before the snow starts to melt here on the Georgian Bay rivers . I named them after a favourite beat of mine on the Nottawasaga River . Hope you like them .

Mike : Nice patterns for sure . If you fish Nfld bring many flies of this type . Are they on Bartleet Supreme or maybe Daiichi 2161 ? ..........Frank

Frank , the hooks are Alec Jackson SI (steelhead irons) #10 . There is no other hook number on the package ..... they are a little different than the 2051's or 2161's . I got them from Darren when he was closing out all his Daiichi's and going strickly with Mustad/Partridge hooks . I've been tying up quite a few of these converted type salmon wets to suit steelhead . I'll post more when I get a chance to take some pics if you like .

Great flies Mike. I love the nottawasaga area. I have never fished for winter fish there, but grew up a couple hours away. Now I reside in Newfoundland and have used flies like that (as frank suggested)
