Tying Over The Weekend?

Recommended Posts

Guest

For my upcoming Steelhead trip next weekend I sat down for a few hours and tied up some flies that I'll be taking with me. I'll be tying up a few more different patterns this week. Anybody else get a chance to tie up anything???

damn good looking steelie flies, what are the two in the bottom left corner ?

I tied up some cicada patterns this weekend, from the new harrison steeves book. I have never had a book that made me want to copy almost every pattern in the book, but this one does.

The two on the bottom left and the one on the top left are all "Spring Wigglers", but I didn't have the right type of hook sad.gif

I went to the fly shop to get some and this was the only type of hook that is similar, I needed a hook with a turned down eye and all they had were straight eyes. They also only had size #4 and that is probably too big.

good looking flies, i dont think the hook eye will make muchof a difference. I have seen where it would matter on a dry fly, but should too much on a wet fly.

John,

Which swap was that for? I'm still trying to find enough time to finish the Tom Nixon flies (Parmacheene Bass) for my own swap...too much writing to do this month!!

Pretty nice, Will

Make sure to bring something olive. One friend of mine will fish nothing but. He may change the color of the egg pattern in front of it, but the main fly is always something olive. Buggers, sparrows, wigglers...
