tubetyer 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2010 I received some 1/2 inch tapered shrimp from my friend, Stuart Anderson who owns the Canadian Tube Fly Company, asking me to come up with a pattern. So far all the patterns I made were for European salmon but I wonder if they would translate to American Steelhead in particular the West coast verity. If any one is interested in trying one let me know just what colors to use (I paint the tubes myself) and who/where to mail it when finished. This is a sample of an European (Welsh) version
steelie 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2010 Good Day, I would say it is all about color combinations. For example, here in the Great Lakes purple, blue, black and or chartruese get noticed by both steelhead and salmon. Even Lake Run Browns... So I might take the approach of effective color combos.
