FKROW 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 I have one of the originals from the inventor of the fly,,,, Jay "Fishy" Fullum from Ravena, NY. He was a guest tyer at the past weekend show in Danbury, CT. A true gentleman and very generous with his time and instruction on flies in his recent book and new developments like the Itsy Bitsy Spider,,,,his granddaughter gave Jay the name when she saw him experimenting with the new pattern. Regards, Fred Krow
flyfishingheaven 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2004 Yes it does float. I love to fish this pattern. I think it is really cool that you have the original. Would you send a picture of it to me. I would love to see it.
FKROW 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2004 I will take some photos of he spider this weekend. Do you have Jay "Fishy" Fullums book, he has some very creative ideas for terrestials. He tells everyone at the shows,,,,these are not exact patterns to copy,,,they are basic ideas and concepts to expand upon and develop your own personal variations. Jay would be very proud to see your pattern, nice work and very nice photo. Regards, FK

getholdofjoru 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2004 Sweet tie! I actually have these materials. Will tie some of these up. Thanks for the recipe. I never thought about using those beads for eyes on terrestials, I had only been using them on damsel imitations.
flyfishingheaven 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2004 Glad you like it. The eyes work well. The are not to heavy and give it a great appearance.
