Fred H. 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2013 This is tied on a stainless size #4 streamer hook. It's 2 1/2 inches long and weighted . It has a mono core and a flexible tail that should hold up to toothy critters.
Peterjay 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2013 Nice work Fred - that floppy tail should stir up some action. IMO, the toughest challenge in SW fishing is to grab the predator's attention when they're on rain bait. That little rascal should do the job.

ditz2 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2013 I did not see the triangle tail the first time I viewed the top pic. I like the fly and should work in many places. Salt and fresh water.
Kirk Dietrich 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2013 That would be great when those gulf fish are blitzing glass minnows. Lady Fish, bonito and I'll be even tuna! I wonder if you marked the rear edge of the tail with a little black or maybe gold marker...not that the fly can be much better than it is... I hope you have time to squeeze this little guy in your class next Saturday. Kirk
Fred H. 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2013 Thanks ditz2 and Kirk. Kirk it won't be part of the work shop but I'll bring the materials and demo the tie either before or after. Fred
