captkenroy 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2014 Rick Seigler sent me a bunch of flies that he uses. They are all much smaller than I ever used but I decided to give them a shot. I tied on a little silver critter with a brass bead head first mainly because I fiured it would get down fast. Water temperature was much colder than I usually fish for Bluegills at 61 degrees. I wasn't too optimistic but it was a beautiful and warm day with not too much wind. Evidently I picked the right fly because I caught at least 20 in an hour and a half before heading home. I caught several species of panfish including Blurgills, Redbreast Sunfish, Red ear Sunfish, Stumpknockers and one lone Crappie. Here is the biggest of the bunch, a bluegill that probably pushed a pound. Not huge by our standards but still a very nice fish My son caught this one. mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2014 Bream ... Sunfish ... what ever name you want to call them. That's what I am usually fishing for. Nice one pictured there.
