tctrout 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2014 Fun thread for sure, and I'm happy to share. I have not found too many bad variations, which lends to the success of this pattern in so many types of water. One of my best fishing Buggers is with a peacock herl body: I've also done well when tying the pattern with schlappen hackle: Plus, no hackle, but simple webby crystal chenille is always a great one, and FAST to tie: TC
bellevue.chartreuse.trout 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2014 Mike!!!!!!!!!! Never used a Wooly Bugger???!?!?!?! Just about fell off my seat when I read that (lol). Ok, maybe not. Bakers hole Bugger - I saw it a few years ago and just think it's the 'cat's meow' - 3 colors in the tail with some flashabou, variegated chenille body, plamered real soft hackle with an orange tying thread head. I thought it looked like a little brown trout in the water when I saw it the first time. BCT
