breambuster 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2016 John F, Skill Builder is just a series of trout swaps, much like other swaps, except that each person is encouraged to send in their very best effort, to try to tie 12 flies that are as close to identical as possible, which is one of the marks of a good tyer, knowing that your flies will be evaluated at the end of the swap. I will make some observations but I'm learning too. But we have a really great tyer, Hendrik Thomsen, from Denmark who does a critique of the flies and offers tips for improvement. So far we have done Nymphs in the first round and Soft Hackles in the second round. The third round is Classic Wet Flies With Wings.
