salmobytes 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2018 (edited) Wax up a #10 beading needle. Wet a duck flank feather with fabric cement. Lash it onto the needle. Add some long tail fibers. Wind from the front to the back, to the base of the tails, at the pointy-end of the horizontal needle. Whip finish with two wraps. Restart the thread at the wing position. Wing it from there? Slide it off the needle. Bend it to shape. Use another needle to add a film of fabric cement at a few strategic places. Put it aside. Tie it onto a scud hook. Add a hackle feather. Wind the hackle. Whip finish at the REAR, so the thread climbs up the bend of the hook and butts up against the fly. Finish off with a dab of ZapAGap underneath, at the fulcrum of the bottom-mounted parachute hackle.
