hook - Dai Riki 899 #6

thread - UTC 140 black

rib - x-fine wire gold

tail - moose body hair

body - peacock herl

hackle - Indian Hen

wing - moose body hair

indicator - 2mm foam orange

mash barb, start thread, tie in rib, wrap to bend

clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend) a clump of moose; tie in, wrap butts along shank

tie in peacock; wrap to double wire, tie off/trim

counterwrap wire, helicopter end, cover with thread

tie in (folded) hackle by tip (fibers should extend to hook point), wrap, tie off/trim

clean, stack, measure (length of body) another clump of moose body; tie in with tips forward

tie in foam

pull wing up/back, set angle with thread wraps

whip, SHHAN, trim foam, trim wing butts

Nice SBS again. This pattern is just begging for one little addition and that is what Gary LaFontaine referred to as "Double Magic", which is the combining of antron touch dubbing with peacock herl. I just feel that this little addition would increase the drawing power of this fly by a whole lot. Wish I could figure out how to post pictures on this site.

I'd love to see your take on this; the dubbing combined with herl would be cool. If you're looking for recommendations of an online photo storage platform, I like Photobucket; cheap (actually free as long as you don't go crazy posting pics) and very easy to use.
