Paint for Poppers?

Hi Folks,

I need to draw on your extensive experience? What paint have you found for painting poppers? First, spray of brush? What lasts the best, acrylic others? Clearcoat too? Favorite colors and brands? Thanks for your help?

I'm wondering about this as well. I'd like to try some foam poppers over the holidays and I've looked at Copic marker spray system but there's got to be a better (cheaper) solution.
