SBPatt 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2018 PETA approved; change color/size to suit your needs. hook - TFS 2305 #2 thread - UTC 140 tan core - 25lb Mason underbody - moose body hair body - 2mm foam cream wing - 3mm foam tan rear legs - 2mm foam/medium rubber brown (Thunderthighs style) front legs - medium rubber brown indicator(s) - 2mm foam orange/yellow put a loop in one end of the mono mash barb, start thread, tie in mono; clean, stack a clump of moose body/tie in hook loop onto the gallows, wrap underbody up and back (extending a bit past the bend); trim tips tie in foam strip (gap width) facing forward tie in second strip (about 1/3 gap width; any wider and it wont wrap properly) brush underbody with Super Glue; wrap up and back down; trim trim mono, wrap wide strip back over body determine hook eye position and poke a hole pull hook eye thru hole in foam tie foam down at eye and pull back; foam wasn't very elastic (old stock?) and shredded a bit; wierd tie down at base of body/trim taper 3mm strip (gap width+), measure (tip should be gap width past rear of body), tie in taper 2mm foam strip insert needle in edge, insert fine wire thru hole, insert rubber thru loop, pull wire down to thread rubber leg; trim, dab with Super Glue tie in leg(s); trim/taper end of thigh even with hook bend tie in indicator(s) move thread to eye (underneath wing); tie down wing tie down indicators tie in front legs at eye whip finish, SHHAN, trim legs/wing/indicators to length Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
mikechell 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2018 a large sewing needle will reduce the rear leg steps. I have one large enough to pull rubber leg material through, then just pass the needle through the foam. No need for the poke, then wire, then rubber leg steps. High floating pattern ... that one !!!
