deikens 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2004 I was curious if any one had a good picture or pattern for a Epeorus pleuralis nymph (fam: heptageniidae in the common Clinger class of Mayfly). i have a local trout stream loaded with these... also i am looking for some addvise on the quill gordon... anyone know where i can get some good guills to buy. (peacock quills not died)... i tried to bleach them like A.K. Best... but i seem to make them to brittle... i could also use a good picture of a quill gordon too... thanks everyone for your time.... Guest Report post Posted April 10, 2004 If you're only going to tie a few quill flies, try one of these methods of fiber removal. Use an eraser to remove the fiber or try pulling the herl through a small loop, such as a hook eye. Before tying, let the quills sit in water for a bit (1/2 hour?) to soften them. Let us know how you make out. John
