Changed it up a bit. It was hard to know the proportions from the vid. I'm ready, let me have it. I can take it. ...(duck)

Never saw that...good job horseshoes.Kinda makes me remeber when paul in a river runs through it said close mouth cal, calvin coulage,Had a fly the size of chicken, thinking if it wouldn't catch a fish,it sure would scare one to death :j_k :j_k:

iso... I worked hard to make that scary. :j_k: It looks the same size as the vid. I put it on a size 4 carp or maybe it was a 6? He said it was for the biggies. tarpon etc. But I want to entice a few stripers or sea trout my way. Nope..flies have not arrived. Should be anyday now. hopefully. I am an optimist.

ok 2bonthewater that would be very generous. Just let me know what flies you are sending and I'll put them on the board with you name twice listed. Just so the undecided doesn't tie off the same. :yahoo: :yahoo: I just thought it would make it worth while in $ of the postage etc. And...THANK YOU.

Here's a streamer pattern from my tying desk this morning.... any feedback?Great streamer. That would look great in our rivers. A few strands of flash and I know the stream this spring. Did you already post the pattern?

Any colour you do will be fine. We have an abundant of insects... A lot of the fishermen favour the green, but I have seen all colours at the waters. I have had more success fishing by changing it up at times. I think sometimes the fish are like people and get tired eating the same thing all the time. I can honestly say that I don't know of a colour they have not taken at one time or another.
We have such variable environments to fish in. Any will be fine here. Besides my neighbour has no rhyme or reason as to why he picks the ones he does. I have yet to figure it out yet at least.

The opportunity for learning is endless here. Welcome.

I put mine in the light packet posting and declare it to be fly tying materials or flies. How long does it take for your post to arrive? I allow two weeks for delivery to the U.S. But depending on whether it is a major city address or a rural address tells you how long. I also put air mail decal on the envelope and tick air mail on the customs label.
I have had it take up to 15-17 days for it to arrive. :dunno:

Welcome aboard riffleriversteelheadslayer looking forward to seeing your some sort of mayfly imitation. :headbang: :headbang:

Ok I'm surprised about it not filling up but I'll leave it open till tommorow morning. Then I'll close it. How ever many there are it will be and I'll make up the numbers in order to make it worth while, just to keep the number up to 12. So I'll post tommorrow.
-
Good to have you two aboard. Welcome 2bonthewater and rich5665.
My postal workers are getting quite the kick out of the flies I have been sending out. They are very curious as to what I will eventually receive. So am I.
Well, just four more spots. Let's see if we can finish it up.
Thanks again for joining rich5665 and 2bonthewater. :yahoo: :yahoo:

In my river you are not allowed to use lead weighted flies. That solves my problem.
-
Okay we are half full and if it doesn't fill soon I will insure all will be well and if it is only us then you get twice the opportunity for the hooks.
So people if you don't want to make it easier for the 6 already in to win the hooks then you best sign up soon.
Someone will win no matter what. Not to mention our quality flies.

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: CALLING AROUND THE WORLD :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Half filled now. Those trout resting in the mud waiting for our flies to torment them.

Now that I've recovered from mouse6196, It is neat and orderly and I, like mouse6196 would most likely embarrass myself.

Very nicely organized...I'll have to get pics of mine and embarrass myself:hyst: :hyst: :hyst:

oooooh that one hurt I bet. :hyst:

Well, hello mouse6196, welcome, I'm glad you could join. Can't wait to see what you decide. :yahoo:

I use old cassette tape cases they fit within the limits. Mind you, my tapes are starting to splay all over the place. I'll have to finish transferring them on to my computer. But they work with an insert glued in to help hold the hooks in place.
I fold the return envelope in half and slide to one side and put in the case standing on end on the otherside. Sometimes I will put a little plastic bubbles on top of the return envelope just to even the shape of the envelope, to help keep the edges down. This keeps the height to the minimum requirements.

This is my favorite news for my region.
"A Halifax bus driver will be suspended with pay while Metro Transit investigates why he jumped out of his bus and used a stick to beat a toy seal being used as a prop by anti-seal hunt protesters." :hyst: :hyst: :hyst:
Our news announcer could barely keep a straight face.
