  1. "you guys ain't gonna believe this but i was fishing one day and got abducted by aliens. i was found 10 hours later in a strip club without no recollection of how i got there. " Well thank you Bud you are the winner in our livingroom. You brought tears of laughter to us all. I darn near couldn't get the whole yarn out loud for laughing so hard. So thank you very much, the laugh was worth a week of fishing to us. :hyst: :yahoo: :hyst:  :headbang: :D

  2. We have mega management. It changes every year. You need a license for fresh water and salmon. Not allowed to fish shark except at scientific shark festivals (love it).

Usually fresh is march -september. we have one lake for all year round. We have certain fish at certain times, certain hooks,bait/no bait, barbs, fly only, how many hooks, how many of which fish in bag limit per day and then you have a no type of fish restrictions and no tributaries in a certain time of year and only fish from 1hour before sunup and 1 hour after sundown. ............. We get a guide with our license every year and you have to check it out for all the restrictions or species and tribs openings.

Every province manages it's own fish and wildlife.

Such as why you will find some species are plentiful and able to be big in size with very few species disappearing anymore. The pollution is another can of worms we won't touch.

    How is your fishing? :hyst:

  3. Hi,

If you live in an area where there is no or limited fish supplies than maybe you should start asking around and do some research about it. Maybe just maybe... You might have enough business in flies to help pay for your equipment. It is worth a look. You may have a niche in that corner of the market. Find out and put your name around. Once you feel confident enough with you flies than start selling to your locals. Even 1 fly at a time. Every penny counts and you get your name out there locally and that is where they will send anyone wanting flies in your area. Just idea to help you pay for your materials if you are seriously thinking of tying. welcome to our obsession. :yahoo:

  4. Peterjay, You crack me up, I pity your wife. I watch a lot of people like that drive by my house over and over again. :hyst: . Houndog, I'll keep you in mind. I am doing a few now I hope will be good in the spring water  . JSzymczyk, Space has been given along with time lately in that area  . the saltydog, you sound like a tying machine which is good for your friends. :yahoo: One thing I think we all need to see now and then is moments like this one that made us pull our car over to capture it. I'm sure you can all relate.

  5. Well JSzymczyk the first time I thought so too but on the second time I had my doubts. The joy you see on their faces troutguy is what I see from aquaitances and strangers. That is a question I myself am tossing around and casting for answers mtbbrian. There are great people on this site who are helping to clarify it for me.

I guess we always assume people won't have a problem accepting gifts. I am beginning to believe I was wrong. Freinds or not there seems to be issues sometimes. I may be way off on this one. I just hope it isn't a judgement passed on my flies. :hyst:

  6. Well FLYBUM06811 it sounds like you have a good fishing friend like the others here. I hear ya. I have been contemplating both at times COACHBOB. I do find that when designing or developing anything you need some honest opinions so you can learn and change the design to correct the problem. That was what I was looking for. This last occurance has forced me to reflect upon the terms of friendship. Just want know what other people have experienced within their friendship, past or present.

  7. Well FLYKID I'm not sure about the self sufficient bit, but JOEO I grin everytime I reel them in. Especially at our local over a beer when our friends asks about the fishing that day. Makes my beer sweeter and his face goes like his beer was a little green coming out of the line. :hyst:

  8. Funny you should say that REDWINGS1 about their loss. We were fishing last spring and I had a buzzer on that I call the river skipper and I was reeling in the trout. Rainbow and Brown and some bass with a few funny looking perch. That was the first hour.

He went quiet and I asked him then if he would like to give this fly a whirl, I got a quick NO. So TIDEWATER, it has actually been two times refused and I'm not really into 3 times. He is my friend but how can you learn when you think you know it all? I do alot of this :dunno:

  9. I figured I would give a friend a gift that would keep on giving. Said I would give him flies as I made new designs and asked if he would try them out. Maybe take pictures of his catch if I was there at the time and if he wanted, put him on my site. His reply? "If they're good." I repeated his answer and he said "I know what flies I want."

    Still shaking my head. :dunno:

  10. Thanks Tyrite,

That simple pattern has been good to me, another one I have seems to attract anything with gills. I do not use it some days because I want some peace. It's a mystery. I call it River skipper, it is a buzzer. I haven't looked through the database to see if there is anything like it yet posted. If not then I will put the pattern up. Have a look.
