  1. if you got cats, tie up a big feathery fly break of the point so they cant get hurt and start casting :j_k:
  2. Yes, but i bet you don't live in a national park where you can find fur and feathers every where. And if your really lucky even the odd piece of sasquatch fur
  3. i know, i just bought some new hooks and they are starting to get really expensive
  4. does any one else know any thing that you would just randomly find laying around your house that can be used for fly tying.
  5. was looking around my house for fly tying materials, you know the random stuff you just find. i found dental floss, it was oral-b satin and it was thin and flat. i started tying and what do you know it produced a quill like body. havent tried dying yet but it is white so it should work. will post pictures later.
  6. is there any thing that i would just randomly find around my house that can be used to dye them?
  7. any one know of ways to dye feather quills, i was told kool aid works but are there any other ways?

  10. Im confused, i finished tying the flies for a flyswap but now theres something about 2 envolopes, i get the part about the altoids container but what do i do with envolopes?

  14. Just bought my first dry fly hackle cape,a metz grade 2 cape. Tied a few flies and it was good,but being the first time using dry fly hackle was wondering if anyone had any tips on winding hackle. thanks add
  15. If your looking for some help ask some one who's been tying for a while or read a book. Im sure that an experienced tier would have no problem helping you out. If your looking for new patterns try the internet or go down to your local bookstore and see if they have anything on fly tying, the beginners guide to fly tying and the fly tiers bible are both really good books.

  17. found a patch of elk fur in the forest, cleaned as best as i could but the thing still smells terrible
