Got my first kit oh about 2 years ago, when I first started fly fishing also, I went to a local sport shop called Ray's sport shop. And I was really doubting starting fly fishing, then the one man said never give it up, and I dint and man it's been so much fun, he also gave me a discount on a tying kit, a Jack Dennis fly tying video. Now I know of the beat sport and hobby out there and will never give it up. My first fly was the Suwn Juan Worm, and caught 50+ bluegill on it. Best time ever, catching fish on something out of your own creation.

NJFM those are some great pictures of my second favorite river, my first is the South Branch, The KLG is a great place caught my first trout on a fly rod there... Great Memories!!!! But yeah you know where I fish just the Musky, South Branch, And some bass ponds.

UNI is awesome thread I use it in 8/0 to 6/0

Danville I use 6/0 and 3/0, they have very bright and vibrant colors

Sometime I'll use UTC's GSP thread which is very strong

And then if your getting small use the smaller threads.

Scenes like that would literally make me give up fishing. Perhaps its the reason I am where I am and the reason I never got into salmon fishing in the north west. Hope it all clears out for ya.

Yeah the funny thing is that after "opening weekend" you'll never see another person out on the water fishing...

I was at Saxton Falls in September before school started and there was one other guy across the river fly fishing.

This is a little off topic but. I've been hearing about Fly Tyers Dungeon on this site and everyone makes it sound awesome. I've been to the site before and haven't ordered anything.

I was just wondering what's some great stuff off the site?

Also im gonna wait till after i see what his "Tax Day Special" will be.

Also how is his elk hair on the site, i've been looking to tie up some stimulators and i need some good elk.

i just put a two good ol' whip finishes and it should be fine.

would you have to tie a special knot if you want it to ride with the hook upward?

is there any reason why it is tied with the hook upside down? love the fly and is the hook painted?

NJFlyMan i saw the little list you had for Flytyer and I saw a "Walt's Worm" I never hear of the pattern.

I think this topic for more of the younger generation of fly tyers, I don't think to many older generations of tiers listen to music while tying, not saying there are any out there I'm just saying it a lower number probably.

is it good quality elk because I've been looking for good quality elk hair for some stimulators.

the wing has some stary hairs. Maybe if you used a hair stacker it would look better.

It says 2mm but I thought that was for the indicator, cause the body of the hopper looks way thicker than 2mm foam.
