  2. I can't figure out how to get the dumb thing to float. I used foam and elk hair and it floats for 10 seconds then slowly sinks beneath the surface. Any would suggestions would be appreciated.

  4. :clapping: :punk: Another great set. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Sorry I missed you Birthday Mike. It looks like you had a good one. I had a root beer minus the root last night.
  6. I have to agree with Old Hat, plus the bead head hares ear was one of my most productive flies this year.
  7. Tied a couple up on the weekend and managed 1 pike from the shore. Fishing has really slowed down and it looks like they've moved to deeper water, but not bad saying everyone else got skunked yesterday. Can't wait to get it out in the boat and cover some area with it.
  8. look up day5's patterns most of them are for smallies.
  9. Sweet ties and those hooks are off the hook. What material are you using for the body?

  14. There both a little different. The tail for the one on the right is some fibers off of a bright green Guinea feather. Thread: UNI fl. pink hook: #6 34007 hook tail: bright green Guinea feather fibers and a little green crystal flash (optional). Body: uni highlander green floss with med. silver round tinsel. Wing: squirrel and copper crystal flash (on the left one) or green crystal flash(on the right one). eyes: bead chain (home depot) Head: a lot of thread Throat: (can't really see it on these ones) a little red craft fur.
  15. When fishing gets a little slow or none existant I pull out the 5wt and have some fun. These guys look a little flat and beatup cause they got fished and have caught a lot of fish. So far they've caught, bluegills, crappies and large mouth bass.
  16. Congrats, i love it when the line stops and you know it's a big one.
  17. Your flies are amazing, I'm hoping to try some spey flies this winter.
  18. I saw it in a magazine from Norway and thought I would give it a shot. I've been tying for 9 months now and I'll try anything once.
  19. Jan, I had custom plates on my car when I was 16 that said IBIAN as in I BE IAN, I just got tired of looking at it for all these years and needed a change. And don't worry I'll bring some Dad's rootbeer for ya.
  20. Thanks for sending the hair Mike, I'll send some flies your way if they look fishable. CF
  21. Hey it's Ian, I've changed my ID. Now see what happens when I don't come to this thread for a just a little while; it gets out of control. My latern with be a arrow with large fire ball on the end, and yes it's already to fire with the compound bow. Now Jan can go but no beer yet he's not 21. If this works out and we explore some cave in Canada when he's 19 he's more than welcome to some beer. Ian AKA CF
  22. Sorry I can't see photobucket images at work but all the flies on your blog are killers. CF
  23. I posted some earlier under a different ID, didn't like my old name I've been using it way too long and liked the change. Anyways heres some new offerings. Rusty Rat Telephone Box (V.) (the head is not finished) No name for this one, same concept as a castle rock. Head a little big but I think I have it under control now. Greenhighlander (V.) this is my take on the greenhighlander for my limited skills.
  24. Been playing with some Icelandic Sheep hair. The stuff is very colorfull and has great movement in the water. I tested this guy out yesterday and netted a little 4 pounder on the first cast. In half an hour casting from the shore I managed 3 with this guy.
