  1. Piss off Pinhead.... (what???? It works with Matt.) Going in the mail tommorow. I know I'm cutting it a little close but my backs been such a problem lately that sitting the desk for more than 30 minutes is a bear... Murrays Madtoms...a simple little fly with a TON of rabbit hair. Fishy
  2. Got my flies today....GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!! :headbang: Can't wait to put these to the test on the local smallies.. Fishy
  3. PHEW!!! I thought I had screwed myself out of some super flies..... Gotta learn not to go on a rant after a few "Daddy Sodas" Fishy.
  4. ???????? :dunno: I'm sure I'm reading this wrong, but you're gonna send who their flies back? I was just ranting about the fact that swaps never go off like they're supposed to and people get shorted flies. I hope you didn't take it that I wanted my flies back.... Fishy
  5. Since in fly fishing you're actually casting the line and not the lure (fly) on the end, it's important. Imagine trying to cast a 16th ounce jig on 17#test on your flipping stick....'nuff said. Fishy
  6. Thanks for hosting this one Matt, but I've gotta say I haven't had the best luck on swaps lately. I know things come up and I know life sometimes does weird things, but I haven't been in one yet where people didn't just disappear at the end or maybe the box got lost someplace. I tie a specific number of flies and I ship them on time no matter what, I expect that many back. People are abusing the system, period. I'm ranting , but this is really not encouraging me to do any more swaps. :wallbash: Fishy.
  7. What a cool idea... :headbang: I know something between jack and squat about college ball, but I may just give it a try... Fishy
  8. I'll let you borrow my copy of Deer Hair Bass Bugs for as long as you need it buddy. Just say the word and I'll send it.. Fishy. P.S. It is VHS
  9. If I'd have known it was as easy as "piss off pinhead" i'd have told you that long ago... Fishy.
  10. Trying to learn to use a dubbing loop with Rabbit hair clipped from the hide for Murrays madtoms.... I think I could get it if I could get the $*^%@*( &^%((*@!!! to stay in the &%#!! loop! I did drop 20$ and buy the MP twister though, gonna see if that helps any? Fishy
  11. Yeah Terry, I'll take care of it when you come up this spring for that trip! :headbang: chart/white, olive/white and baby bass are the ones you should definately tie for this area bud. Fishy
  12. I could tell you all to go buy the book, but...... The two biggest things are.. 1. The eyes should be tied in at a MINIMUM of 1/3 the length back on the hook shank. 1/2 or more back is not too far depending on the hook / weight / action desired. 2. The way we are tying in the head. Most, if not all of us (myself included!) are tying to large/bulky of a head and are wrapping too close to the dumbell eyes on both sides but especially the front. The guy giving the class is pretty much strictly a Smallmouth guy and admitted that he himself had tied hundreds incorrectly before spending a little time with Bob at a show and picking up his book. I know most of us will say "Theres no way to really tie a fly wrong, it's all in the tyers style and interpretation (sp?) of the fly." I agree for the most part, but the reasons why it's tied the way it is with the weight where it is and the wraps the way they are really do affect the action. If you're a fan of Clousers flies or a dedicated Smallmouth fisherperson (pc ya know..lol)... GET THIS BOOK! Fishy
  13. Went to a tying class Sat at the L.F.S. where we did Clousers and discussed the new book Bob Clousers got out with directions and comments on 17 of his patterns. 1. It's a great book and i bought it even though i don't have two nickels to rub together. 2. We're all tying it wrong. Fishy. :ripped:
  14. Ya know, thats such a simple change to the ol Bugger, but it really gives it a different look. I like that so much I think I'll try a few... Bravo :yahoo: Fishy
  15. I doubt I'll do another one. Fishy

  17. Glad you like the flies and you're welcome for the egg tubes....now be a dude and toe tag those for me. I'm such an idiot!!!!!! I just realized I didn't tag em. Fishy Check my post above for material list.
  18. Try some Gudebrod GX2. Chris Helm was using it last weekend at the Cincy show and it's damn near impossible to break. It's a gel spun and man is it nice! Fishy
  19. You little :butt: ! SOMEBODY...was giving me a hard time about following Chris Helm around all day like a schoolgirl with a crush. That SOMEBODY gets a picture with him!!!!! :ripped: There is no justice, especially after I dropped $60 at his booth. A good time was had by all and I got to meet a lot of people and get some good info on local waters. Will and Will did a great job and I think we're now planning on ways to make it better. Fishy.
  20. I'm looking forward to seeing and meeting all of you guys! I called Will earlier in the week and I'm coming over for the day to help him out with the booth as much as I can. This is my first show as well and I can't wait :yahoo: :yahoo: Fishy.
