  1. I haven't put in a hook in the vise in a month due to home renovations. I still check the forum from time to time and enjoy what I see.
  2. Nice looking JS George! Never an easy fly to tie.
  3. One of my all time favorite flies. Nicely done. Jon
  4. More freestyle flies I've tied in the past. I tie on Ronn Lucas hooks for many display flies. The last one is on a hook that Val Kropiwnicki sent me a few years ago. Thanks for looking. Jon
  5. Very nice George! Love that hook too. Jon
  6. I have to give credit to Scott Cesari for his outstanding work with tying butterflies. He motived me years ago to give it a shot and I took a little different and less realistic path. I learned they are much easier to tie than classic's, at least for me. Your options are limitless with these and they make great gifts. Jon
  7. Love it George! I knew I could get you over to the darker dark side of fly tying. Jon
  8. Hello everyone. I had a chat today with my great friend George K (SalarMan), and he told me about this new forum that started here. George is not only a great friend, he's also one of the best human beings on the planet. I'm a John McLain disciple and close friend of his. He's help me for years and given me advice and feedback on my tying. If I can be a resource and answer questions here, I'd love to help. Due to work , I haven't tied much over the past year but I'm anxious to get back at it. In the meantime, I thought I'd post some of my favorite flies that I've tied. My brother is a retired Army (Green Beret) Major and I tied some flies for him that reflect his career achievements. I don't like giving unsolicited advice, but I will with the topic of freestyle and artistic fly tying; there are no rules! Take care, Jon
  9. Danvise suites my needs, I have no complaints.
